    on/off roster Beretta 81...PPT

Beretta 81 , Been looking for one , found a seller in Ca. (expensive) and am considering it ,

also contacted by someone out of state and they are willing to hand carry it to a FFL for transfer by PPT (10rd mag) , is this legal to do , how do I find out if its considered on/off roster for one coming from out of state or does it matter (?),

I know if one is in the state already it's GTG to buy and PPT it , what about out of state carried into a FFL ?

Calif. laws are just mindboggling (!)....help/advice please.

OK...so the same firearm in Ca. can be PPT'd to me by another person in/from Ca....

the same firearm coming from out of state is a no-go for a PPT .....yeah ..mindboggling for sure.

        thanks for the info

If the guy coming from out of state has a valid California ID you are good to go.

Not likely but not impossible either.

Don't try to make common sense of it. It is about gun control and reducing our options, and in that regard it makes perfect sense.

By definition, PPT is between two California residents who meet face-to-face. Therefore anything coming from out of state cannot, again by definition, be a PPT. Even if it comes from a private seller in the next county who ships it to your dealer it still is NOT a PPT.
