    Check the Roster...

Happy 2021... Check your inventories. I went to DROS a Walther P22CA this morning and the P22CA is no longer on the Roster. Hopefully it's just the DOJ being slow on updating paperwork.

Isn’t there a law that starts this year that says for every firearm added to the roster three come off?

EDIT: Corrected in Post #6 - effective July 1, 2022.

Thats a confusing one Ron, and I believe that its up to the maker to remove three and add one, but doesnt apply when they fall off. Side note, I've seen stuff not get updated for a couple weeks into the new year and then they are back on again. Seems to happen each year.

But if they don't appear on the on-Roster pick-list, can't sell them to 'just anybody'; creates a window where some guns are not available.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

            I found the actual text:

This bill, effective July 1, 2022, would revise the criteria for unsafe handguns by requiring the microstamp to be imprinted in one place on the interior of the handgun, and would require the department, for every new firearm added to the roster, to remove, in the reverse order of being added to the roster, 3 firearms from the roster that are not compliant with current requirements.

By expanding the number of firearms the sale or manufacture of which would be a crime, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program.

Right, but that's a modification to the qualifications to get on the Roster for the first time. Under current, beginning-of-2021 law, changed qualifications do not apply to guns already added to to the Roster, or to the annual renewal.

Walther has just issued a statement that they basically messed up and are now taking care of getting the P22's back on the roster later this month.
