How to find an FFL’s CFD number

How can I obtain a CA Firearms Dealer number from a public source? My out of state vender is asking for it for transfer.

    Thx

I usually give the receiving FFL's info to the seller and let them handle it.
I've never had an FFL give ME their info

FFLs are not supposed to give their number to non-licensees. So the sending FFL needs to contact the receiving FFL for both numbers. Neither number should be public.

Every single FFL number issued is public, except 03 FFLs

I do not believe CFDs are publicly accessible however

Well, I stand corrected! Our ATF agent said we’re not supposed to give out our number. But it seems to be public anyway.

It is an out dated way of thinking about security IMO (hiding FFL numbers) but yes the ATF still promotes it with one hand, while totally defeating it with the other - in typical government fashion
