    Smithing

I had my first request for some minor gunsmithing. I think I just log it in and then back out to the owner without DROS or 4473, correct? Do I need any kind of paperwork other than the A&D log?

    Thanks

No, other than what ever records you might want to keep. Just enter into your (gunsmith) A&D book...in & out when the item is picked up. Now, if someone other than the "deliverer" of the firearm comes to pick it up, Feds Law says that that person must complete a 4473 and the gun DROS'd (and a 10 day wait prior to taking delivery...assuming he/she clears the background check).

Does that mean I should have a separate A&D book for gunsmithing only?

Yes. Both books are "aduitable" by ATF, though in 52 years I've never had an ATF auditor want to inspect my gunsmith logs.
Brownell's sells both Gunsmith Firearms Repair Log books as well as Firearms Acquisition & Disposition Record books.
        Each requires different entries.

Got it, thanks! I have their A&D Book but not the Gunsmith log. I'll pick one up.
