DROS Entry System - Multiple Handgun - C&R w/COE Question

Question:
Can you do two handguns at once on the DROS system or do you have to do separate ones?

I was DROS'ing two handguns at my FFL and it would not let us do multiple handgun sales in the "exempt" screen. I am a C&R and COE holder, so do you put the exemption as "30 day wait exemption" or the "Collector" exemption.

I ended up paying for 2 DROS's because once you enter the first handgun you can just click below saying "add additional handgun". I would like to know what you FFL's do when your doing multiple handguns with C&R and COE.

I believe on the "Curio/Relic/Olympic Pistol/Exempt" screen when you finish with one handgun, an "Add Additional Handgun" button appears at the bottom of the screen. It will pull up everything about the buyer that was already entered, but allow new handgun information. Additional handguns on sameday reduced fee is $21.

Sorry, I may have misread your original post. I would use the "30 DAY MULTIPLE PURCHASE EXEMPTION" but I haven't done a C&R + COE sale yet.

The DROS system only allows you to submit one handgun at a time but you exemption allows the FFL to enter the next one right after.

Now for C&R + COE do you categorize it as 30 exempt or collector?

Nope...its a handgun sale where you can't change the number to anything other than one....but there is an exemption drop down menu. I gorget what the options are but after you submit one you get an option to add an additional handgun.

You need to mark it as 30 day exempt, then at the end of the first one, click to do an additional one. The second DROS fee is reduced by $4.

There are problems with the system though and often, a call to the people who run the DROS entry is required in order to get the fees charged correctly, especially if the handguns are of a different type (C&R vs. new). The system forces you to enter a new one, but the charges will be wrong and so a call is required to get it corrected.

BTW, in case you did not know, a C&R FFL and COE exempts you from one gun per month even for modern firearms.
