    A C&R handgun from a private individual out of state for DROS ?

    I'm assuming it's off roster.
    Yes - but make sure you find one willing to accept it as a C&R based on serial number - if it's a model that's still being made.
    The FFL can charge whatever he wants to receive it.
    He can also chose if he wants to accept it from a private party or wants it shipped from another FFL.
    With handguns it's often cheaper to have an FFL ship it as they get a price break with FedX and UPS.
    Either way make sure the seller includes a copy of his drivers license and your contact info so the FFL can call you when it arrives.

      Thanks for the help. Serial# is from 1961. Revolver is out of production since 1974. Is classed as C&R by ATF. But again the LGS can decide what they want. Picture of this jewel ,Centerfire,rimfire convertible Model 53.

        ATF C&R list...
        Smith & Wesson, Model 53, cal. .22 Remington Jet Center Fire magnum.

        Therefore, it's C&R. Regardless of the firearm's actual age.
