FFL can’t find my gun? FOUND!

Due to the covid-19 the Post Office does not require a signature. The letter carrier was delivering boxes with handguns at the outside mail box with easy access to the street even though the shipper paid for signature required. A trip to the post office and informing them of what was in the box stopped the practice. The USPS may show delivery but never made it into the store.

That usps 1508 form is useless if it doesn't help in this scenario. Perhaps the shipper didn't file it though.

So the Glock 19 Gen 5 may be loose on the street. Worst fears confirmed? Hope not.

I personally have had several occurrences this year where the USPS marks a package as delivered when it hits the local main PO. However, it may not be actually delivered to the final location for 24 - 72 hours. This may help their statistics to look good for "delivered" items but it builds frustration for the person waiting for actual delivery. The most frustrating thing is there is no way to "find it" during the AWOL period.

They are doing so when all those late Biden votes show up they can just say - it's always been done that way.

If this was the case wouldn’t the FFL been able to tell me that it was received but waiting on the sending FFL for paperwork when I called on day 6?

Is the gun is not officially received until all correct paperwork is received?

It depends on who you talk to. You’re dealing with one gun in a store when receiving many. Normally I won’t call the person until everything is completed. Trying to explain things that you probably don’t understand is kind of a waste of time. There are plenty more like yours. Plus it happens everyday. I wouldn’t take it personally. Transfers can be a pain in the butt for FFLs because of the requirements.

If it came with no CFLC, it can’t be transferred. Then send an email to the other FFL. He doesn’t respond or is gone for days. Finally emails the CFLC, ok, get all the paperwork together along with other Guns that have the same issue. Ducks now in a row, start calling people to tell them they can come in. It happens
