Out of state CR holder question

If I or a friend decide to sell a CR pistol from CA to another state to a CR 03 holder can it be sent directly or must it still go to a FFL 01 holder?

It would depend on the laws of the recipient's state. If 03's are aloud to receive C&R handguns directly, then you could ship it direct. If they can't, then you need to ship through an 01 in the recipient's state.

It would be a smart idea to file a "no longer in possession" form with CADOJ, available on their website, stating that you sold it to an out-of-state party.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
