    Shipping Info Needed

    I have moved to Texas and left one of my guns with my son. Can he ship it to me thru an FFL in California to an FFL in Texas ?? What is the procedure ?? Thank you

    There is no law that requires your son to ship it via an FFL. Some FFL's will only accept a firearm shipped by a FFL. However, a non-FFL can't ship a handgun via USPS which is generally the cheapest way to do it. A FFL can ship USPS so it might be cheaper to go that route if its a handgun.

    If you decide to have him ship it direct, make sure your FFL will accept it from a private party.

        If it is already his rifle can't the son just ship it to him???

            I got to thinking about that too.

            How is it different than if he shipped it to his son in California for a hunting trip and then shipped it back to himself? Seems like as long as he didn't transfer ownership of the rifle to his son, its still his and his son should be able to ship it to him. No?
