    Is proof of residency needed for longuns also?

      Actually, it could be required if your driver's license address does not match the address that you provide on the 4473 form... In that case, a government issued proof of residency would be required e.g.; a DMV registration, driver's history printout with your name and current physical address... That also goes for P.O. boxes on driver's licenses.

        So if the applicants CDL matches the address on the 4473 then no additional proof of residency is required? Thanks everyone.

          Unless they are a non Immigrant alien/not a US Citizen. Then they need proof of residency.

              I believe it's six months. That is the fed non-immigrant requirement.

              Bottom line, 'most' long gun transactions do not need additional proof, if the DL matches what the buyer writes on the form. (non- PO Box)
