    dros question.

    Is there a time limit as to how long a ffl can sit on a gun shipped to them from out of state before they start the transfer procedure?

          No limit that I know of but i would think most FFL's would want it done ASAP so they don't have to store it.

              Don't think so. We try to get to it as soon as we can.

                  A lot of my business is C&R. I have sat on guns that get shipped to me until the buyer is ready to start the transfer. They sometimes buy more than one so by waiting they avoid multiple DROS payments. I sat on one for maybe 6 weeks while the buyer got his COE renewed. I say this only to illustrate that I don't think there is any legal time limit.

                      No.
                      It would be just like receiving a firearm from a distributor. It's yours till it's theirs by virtue of transfer.
