    Tax question for FFL's

Say I purchased something from Grab a Gun and paid taxes there do I have to pay taxes again when it ships to FFL ? Asking because i've never done this and am thinking about trying it instead of waiting. TIA

Not if you show proof of the taxes paid. Some customers dont like to show their receipt and we end up using msrp. Maybe that's a deal these days though.

We just did this yesterday. The invoice enclosed with the firearm from Palmetto Armory did not show tax being paid but the buyer displayed the email acknowledgment on his phone which did. We took a picture of it to include with the paperwork.

We always ask for an invoice from the shipping party when our FFL is sent over, its a 50/50 compliance rate. If we do not get an invoice we tell the customer we cannot proceed until one is presented, they want their gun so they quickly provide one.

Most customers are blissfully unaware that we have to collect the sales tax on the firearm, most understand that it is not us but the state that is screwing them and forcing FFL's to be tax collectors.
