FFL Bound Book Turn In.

My father in law died in 2017, and his FFL expired this Feb. Do I have to turn in his bound book, or his 4473's to the ATF office in Glendale, or do they come and get it. His agent was a real nice guy, but I have called his office three times and no answer, or call back. Should I just take his book to their office. I know at time the ATF is kind of hidden, and don't necessarily take people just walking into their office. I don't have to turn in his personal book do I? Thanks in advance.

Technically, within 30 days ATF must be notified of going out of business and all records must be turned into the ATF regional office. I'd suggest trying to contact another ATF office.

The book he kept his own guns that he owned before, and later on transferred from his bound book to his own collection. He was a big collector too. We tried to get a hold of ATF since his license lapsed, even talking to W.Virginia, but nobody ever calls back. I think Covid has got them all freaked out about coming out!?

There is an office in Van Nuys in the federal building. Also on Wilshire in westwood.

No need to turn is his personal book. Just the 4473s and bound book related to the business depending how many their are you can mail them to the ATF if you are so inclined.

I really don't want to mail them, since he has over ten big three ring binders of 4473's. That would cost quite a bit to ship to W.V. Hopefully one day his agent who I met once will answer his phone and come and pick the stuff up.
