They also moved some of the sections around so you have to jump around unlike we do currently. Fill out the first page, and sign and date the top of page 2.

Did any of you guys provide feedback to ATF in the preview thread? I did and they told me to pound sand. They actually did respond to me which means there was an opportunity to provide feedback. If enough CA FFLs were saying something perhaps it would have changed things.

They actually said the new form is supposed to improve the flow. For example, moving the firearm info forward was supposed to be so the customer has a chance to review the information.

What this does for me is screw up my custom 4473 app I've been using for 10 years since the customer/dealer fields are all jumbled up now.

Even if every FFL in Ca provided objectionable feedback, since it's a national form, I doubt they would have given us sway. Obviously, this new layout give them what they need...

Their minds were made up before they even started taking feedback. If a congressman or senator had gotten involved they may have back peddled but they wouldn't for mere citizens.

Pretty much..

I even told them to get rid of race and weight (since it is largely irrelevant)... but they told me the couldn't since they are required inputs in NICS.

It's been 6 with the instructions for some time..(more like 5.5), but now it's a full 6..

I miss the long form
