Hello friends,
I guess there is a first time for everything. I am 61 and have been buying/selling guns since I was a teenager. I have never been rejected for a DROS before.
Some background:
I renewed my driver's license online recently after a delay because of the virus. This was on 4/10, 6 days before the expiration date. So I assume my license was never expired.
On 4/20 I went to do a PPT on a rifle. The FFL we used keyed in the info and I thought I was good to go. A few days later the FFL gets a letter saying that the transaction was rejected "because the driver's license/ID card status is not valid and/or the purchaser's name, driver's license/ID card number, and/or date of birth information provided conflict with the files maintained by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)."
I went over the form that he submitted and it is the same as every form I have ever filled out. I have lived at the same address for 38 years.
To see if my license was valid I went to a Sportsmans Warehouse yesterday to buy some ammo. The transaction sailed right through no problem.
At this point I don't know what to do so I am turning to the professionals for advice.
I am getting over the shock of the rejection finally. I'm not angry. I am used to dealing with bureaucracies. I just don't know what to do.
Thanks for listening and thanks in advance for your help.
