I have purchased (almost) a bolt action rifle from out of state and would like it sent to a local FFL for transfer. Bought it on Gunbroker. Pick-up location would be Fresno or Clovis area.
Now why I ask:
1) My usual LGS FFLs are very busy and are not receiving out of state transfers. With the DROS delay and heavy sales volume they can't keep up with their in-store purchases.
2) Another of my usual FFLs is a pawn shop and they're prevented by the current ordinances with the Covid shutdowns. They already have 3 of my rifles sitting there that we can't start the paperwork on.
3) The seller cannot complete the sale becuase once he does he has to remove it from inventory and it is no longer insured. He's holding the sale for me until the dust settles down and I can get someone to take the transfer.
I understand there may be an extended wait time right now. I don't like it but it is what it is. So be it, I would just like to finish the purchase, get my rifle in state, and start the DROS.
So there it is. Let me know if it's hopeless right now or if there is an FFL that can receive the rifle. It's nothing special just something I wanted. An old Ruger M77 in 30-06.
Side Note: The shop I bought the rifle from is in Texas and he told me that the federal system was at one point running 30 days late for approvals. Although that is irrelavent for my purposes here I thought it interesting.
