What is a 'delay'? What does the law say? It says if you do not receive a denial within the 10 day period, there is no prohibition against releasing the buyers property. That's what is says.

It isn't at the FFL's discretion. DROS won't allow it to be released. The system just continues to show the status as "Pending" so there is no way to deliver the firearm regardless of the FFL's policy on releasing on "Undetermined". At least that has been my experience. Not sure what will happen after 30 days. My longest on so far was 16.

I don't understand how DOJ can do this. Seems like its ripe for a lawsuit but by the time it was heard the COVID 19 situation would likely have passed.

My DROs was switched to Delayed status on day 14. To my understanding the Delayed status will be switched to Undetermined if they don't Deny it by the 30th day, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If it is pending then is not undetermined. qualifications meaningless.

2 weeks ago, I had 2 of 3 of my DROS complete in 13 days. The 3rd is now at 27 days.

Since then I have done another two and both are at 17 days.

My FFL's understanding is if it hits Day 30 without the DROS having a decision, the law states that he is to release the firearms.

Also, it is not effecting everyone. FFL says lots are having long waits (has one at 29 days) but others are only going the 10 days. He thinks it is just dependent on who it gets assigned to at DOJ.

I did the paperwork on a revolver Saturday. When I told the guy I would call in ten days he said there have been some delays so he would call me.
I guess I know what to expect.

I was at 16 days on April 22nd. Then switched from pending to delayed. Idk what the reason is yet, because I haven't gotten the DOJ letter yet. My FFL said he'd release it after day 30, but idk if that means it goes to undetermined by default if I don't get a denied or approved, or if it'll remain "hanging" in "delayed" status.

My FFL did say he would release it after day 30 so that's a plus.

Was super excited to find and get a Glock 19, but it's been disappointing waiting and not knowing if or when I'll ever be able to bring it home.

That is the manner it is supposed to work That is not what DOJ is doing. Your FFL has to recieve an "undetermined" status in the DES BEFORE he can release after 30 days.
