Friendly AW Reminder

For those FFLs in SoCal that receive "AWs" from out of state and then "make them compliant".. if you don't have an AW license that's illegal. If you do have an AW license, I think it could be revoked (based on other reading I've done) if you're doing that.

I was just informed by a vendor that told me he routinely ships complete SCARs to Southern California FFLs to make CA Compliant and was about to send me a complete one. I told him what to do in order for me to receive it, but he was SURE that I could receive it complete and make it compliant like all the other FFLs in SoCal.

I have no idea who he was referring to and don't need to know, but if you're reading this and are one of them.. be careful. He was more than happy to say he ships complete SCARs to several SoCal FFLs and my guess is he'd have no problem sharing that list with CA DOJ if ever asked (pure speculation on my part).

Anyway...just a PSA. Ignore me and I'll mind my own business moving forward.

There is no means for a CA FFL, regardless of the permits, to legally convert a so-called a-salt weapon into a non-so-called a-salt weapon for sale in CA, it has to be done outside the state and only shipped in when legal.

Yeah I know of two shops around me that do this. I have lost sales to them because they can get stuff at a price that I can't. Oh well. One day they will lose
