    Filing ammo sales question??

Check the reg's regarding ammo sales but it doesn't address filing of the ammo reg. documents.

When you sell ammo in conjunction a firearm sale are you (all) filing the ammo sale record with the firearm DROS or separately?

Separately. I make copies and put it in the Ammo file.

Thanks... Thought maybe it might be conjoined with the firearm DROS..

Well that initially seemed most logical to me. We just don't know how an auditor is going to want them. I can see filing "just" ammo sales separately but it seems to me that a firearm DROS might be linked to the ammo DROS...???

Speaking of ammo. When you list the types and amounts, is there a way to list several types on one purchase? I only see input for one caliber etc.

The only in formation I give is that which is required and noted by a RED asterisk *.

                1 document per mfg/caliber combo

I will combine different "models" for example:

                10 rounds Federal 124gr 9mm
                10 rounds Federal 115gr 9mm

Those go on 1 DROS as
                20 rounds Federal 9mm

How about the mizzle velocity it tops at 999. Most calibers are more than that. Do you just leave the max the dros allows?

The muzzle velocity depends on the barrel, which is unknown in terms of an ammo transfer. Not sure as to why they even bother to ask such a question, perhaps to see how many give additional information that isn't required.

Didn't you post some time back that the only box's that needed to be filled in were those with the RED (*) by them??

I don't recall if I did, but others have as well. My point was that it is a stupid thing to even ask because it depends on the firearm, not the ammo. They really shouldn't be allowed to ask for anything more than required either, but they really are showing that they don't care about having to follow the law, even bad laws.

In all fairness, wasn't it the idiot liberal legislators that designed and wrote the law that dreamt up the alleged need for that superfluous information? If that's the case, I'm not sure what DOJ had to do with it other than capture the information required. Many at DOJ obviously know nothing about the industry. It's blatantly obvious that the author of the "law" knew nothing related to ammunition either.

                              I feel better now...
