Bay Area FFLs doing transfers during lockdown?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I'm wondering if there are any FFLs handling transfers (i.e., starting DROSs) while we're under the "shelter in place" order.

I recognize transfers may not be considered essential services, but I could see meeting to start the paperwork as a stop in an otherwise "essential" trip (for example, to get groceries).

Appreciate any info people can share.

I spoke to one FFL in the East Bay who told me he was still handling deliveries of existing open DROSs, but not starting any new ones at the moment.

I have are CMP Garand in shipping limbo. I am in Santa Clara County and our shelter in place started midnight Monday. My designated FFL has been receiving shipments all week and, FedEx says they have attempted delivery every day this week, the FFL says he has not received and door tags for missed deliveries, FedEx records say they have left one each day....

I told the CMP my order may end up being returned and if so they should wait until this crisis ends to attempt shipping again.

i think thats me..all good now. my plan is to open and do deliveries only the next 2 or 3 days then start regular dros again just slower and with people waiting outside in their cars and coming up one by one.

Not sure if this helps, but FedEx has been hit and miss for us in terms of deliveries. Some packages make it through and others not and are held up at their facility saying they attemped delivery. My landlord was waiting for an rx for her dog. It was supposed to come the same day I received 2 deliveries from Fedex (ground and express). The tracking said they left a notice which is untrue since they actually delivered some of my packages. When they called in they were told it was being held at the depot due to the shelter-in-place and they were not allowed to pick it up either. Kind of wonky.

On the flip side, I received a notice from UPS that said they will continue to make all deliveries and I did receive a USPS package today.

Question about PPT's. Obviously we cannot make money on the $10 PPT fee and it takes away from sales where we can make money. I saw an email from one store to its private email list stating they were charging up to $250 for ANY transfer. Is there any provision that will allow me to charge more than $10 for a PPT, or am I forced to lose money? Other options?

I don't think they are doing PPTs so that is their internet/ship in transfer fee. I guess for the PPT you can say if they aren't able to pickup 10 mins after DROS allows them pickup to that you charge a $240 storage fee..

I assume you mean 10 minutes after the 10 day waiting period since they can not charge for storage during the waiting period.

I am not sure that it would fly, but claiming to charge for a cleaning fee and supplies might work, but it seems to be that the laws regarding gouging would likely apply.
