Any issues buying an "ACTION only" from "out of state" to be shipped in and transferred here in California? Thinking Remington XP 100. TIA, Mike.

For a long gun, no issue, for a handgun, yes.Kemasa.

As far as I know, you need to check the action for a Remington date code. If it is 1970 or earlier (50 years=C&R), it's OK to ship it to a CA dealer to DROS to you. If it's later than that, no go.
(Because as we all know, a handgun one year younger than an identical one made the year before is MUCH more dangerous to the public! I once bought a revolver from a dealer in Maine, had him hold it for ten months until its "birthday," and then had it shipped to my dealer. "Deferred gratification" is OK with the DOJ!).
I'd be VERY happy to be proven wrong about this, in case anyone really knows better!Comment

And being that the Remington XP 100s were first made in 1963, you may just have something there.
TY for that info.

Frames are not C&Rs. It needs to be a complete firearm to be a C&R. Some modifications can make it not be considered a C&R as well.Last edited by kemasa; 02-18-2020, 9:19 AM.Kemasa.
