    Wanting to buy.

Possible? My friend the lives 200 miles from me, he is willing to sell his pistol to me. I told him that he could take it to his local FFL and have it ship to my local FFL so I can DROS it. Is this OK. Or do I need to do this another way. I do not want to drive to his area to do it & he does not want to come to my area.
    Thanks for your advice.

Depends on the gun. Off roster must be FTF. On roster with no modifications, FFL to FFL is fine.

If it is shipped, then it will no longer be considered a PPT and it will be processed as a dealer transfer.

Because it is a dealer transfer, the 1 in 30 day wait will apply and the dealer can legally charge any amount of money to facilitate the transfer.

In addition, the handgun will need to be listed on the Roser of Handguns Certified for Sale or be exempt from it (LEO sale, C&R, OTP, SAE, SSE2).

FFL shipping to another ffl is not mandatory. If your local ffl says he wants it that way then it is his rules. Find an ffl with reasonable transfer fees with no ffl to ffl rules and that releases on undetermined. Is UG imports up near you. And remember if off roster no shipping.
