CDL Reader

Have any of you bought a new CDL reader recently? What is the best deal out there? I have bought two, both used. The second one has started to fail reading the CDL information (as did the first) so its probably time I buy a new one. Any advise?

I haven't had to purchase a new one in 11 years yet.. although...I'm guessing now that I posted here it will break tomorrow...

Buy the cheapest POS on eBay to make yourself compliant. Half of the IDs don’t swipe anyhow so you have to key it in. And that in my opinion is faster anyhow.

I wanted to get the laser barcode reader to set if they work better, the barcodes tend to start intact better than the stripe. Git the idea from the dmv, but I actually think it wouldn't be compliant

LOL. That's what I have now. I thought my reader was the issue. I have had almost new IDs not read 100%. I guess I'll stick with it. I can't see paying close to $100 for something that may not work any better.
