Dealer error in ammo entry process

In completing a Standard Ammunition Elig. Check I inadvertently hit Vietnamese in the drop-down box instead of White.

In trying to reenter another check in order to correct my error the system it again advised it could not complete...please resubmit. Tried that 4 times with the same response.
Called DOJ and they suggested I go into CFARS and make the correction...no luck with that.

Anyone run into having to make a correction on an ammo check and if so how were you able to do it?

In the webinar, they said no corrections, you just have to start over.

Not sure that race is enough to cause a problem though.

Apparently it is. When the "Vietnamese" check was submitted it was rejected even though this customer had purchased ammo 2 days prior. In trying to correct my stupid mistake a re-do was rejected...several times. I have a call into my Rep. at this point.

I sure hope that eventually they make this process more user friendly...is that wishful thinking or what.

Did you try calling the number from the DES contact?

          Sounds like discrimination.

Yes, they were the ones that said to re-enter the application...then said later to go into CFARS and make the change...which didn't work either.
Sadly, the Webinar did not address correcting stupid mistakes...as far as I can remmber.

It did as it said that you can't correct things.

Correct. I was thinking more in terms of advising dealers that to correct an error (unlike a "regular" DROS) one must start over and complete a whole new transaction with a new number.

The more bugs and difficulties, the better they like it. The procedures ate designed to lower ammunition sales.

Please contact Michel & Associates https://michellawyers.com/.

If this is truly some sort of bug in their system, I have a feeling they would like to hear about it as they are currently working on issues like these.

                      Good thought.
