Has anybody bought from the CMP?

Hi all,

Has anybody bought an M1 Garand and or amo from the CMP? If so, how was the experience and how good was the riffle you bought?

It has been a few years but after all the paperwork it was great. They delivered to the door and the quality was very good. The ammo I got is steel core.

It’s been a while for me as well. But the rifles are graded IIRC. So you have some control over what you buy.

Yes many over the years. Get a Service Grade, mail order Field Grades are a crap shoot. While someone will come along with pictures of a nice Field Grade you cant go by that as no one posts pics of the dogs
Read the grade description and expect to get exactly that. This way you will not be dissapointed

Yes, got a Special Grade M1 Garand and it's awesome!

I also recently got my CMP 1911. It's pretty great too. Really easy transactions. Just make sure all your paperwork is in order.

Are the Philippine returns being sold now?

Yep, got some garands (SG and CG, all greek returns) and a bunch of ammo (mostly Greek HXP in spam cans and loose Lake City in ammo cans) from them. All garands have been great, exceeding my expectations. The Greek ammo was good, the LC one was ok too. Had some paperwork issue on my end with the first garand order - dealing with their customer service was easy. Overall I highly recommend them.
