Looks like we now have to keep documentation (at least copied of IDs) for Ammunition Transfers. I'm not sure if we have to upload them into DES. The verbiage seemed a little confusing.

There's also a new COE requirements for employees to perform some actions in DES.

Yea I sent them a email because I don’t copy IDs if they slide, but it seems like it says I have to copy them for AMMO regardless.

I believe ID copies are required for the DROS Packet.

Perhaps I missed it but how long do we keep the copies???

If a magstripe fails to read or there is a technical issue with equipment a photocopy must be retained.

There are now a ton of more bulletins.

It's basically a DROS for ammo. We need to collect copies, signatures, and retain them for 5 years.

Where are you reading that? The NRA lawyers specifically said that would not be the case on the webinar 2 days ago. You did attend that webinar I hope? And it makes no sense. If I only own a Glock 22, I can’t buy ammo for my 9mm conversion barrel without a long (days) wait? And what if the original DROS recorded the caliber incorrectly? It happens...

No.

There's 2 stages.

1st step is eligibility check -- no ammo is input at that time

After person clears Step 1 in 5min-30 days or whatever depending on the check type then Step 2 is input all the caliber stuff.

Since you can't get to Step 2 until Step 1 is complete they can't do the caliber check ahead of time. Nevermind it wasn't in the PC to begin with.

Sounds like ammo transactions are going to be far more time consuming than firearms transactions

Only Mfg, Condition, Caliber, and Quantity is required..that's all I'm filling out.. Absolutely no reason to add any of that optional stuff.

You Gotta Be Kidding

I've just glanced through this thread and my immediate reaction is CRAP!!! Pretty soon there will be a limit on the number of rounds ... and so on. I really am hoping the Supremes do a little white knighting here. I'm just flabbergasted with the whole thing. Unbelievable!
