FFL Renewal - When Do I Panic?

My license expires May 1. I sent my renewal to ATF March 13. I'm getting notices from my suppliers and DOJ that my license is about to expire.

This is my first renewal. Does it normally take this long? Should I call them? Starting to panic...

Call ATF and ask for a letter stating you are paid and current. FFLs are printed in batches so you probably caught the beginning of a cycle.

I think they are required to issue within 60 days of receiving the application pending no cause for denial.

Email address may have been ok. I think the problem is with my email service. I called my local ATF rep and she will arrange the LOA.

Aces, are you asking about the initial interview for the first license, or an actual ATF inspection? I submitted my original application on February 24 and got my first FFL by May 1. I can't remember when my interview was but I think it was 2 or 3 weeks before I got the license. It took another month or so after that to get my business license. But that may not be what you are asking about...

Yeah, first interview for a new license. Thanks Nardo, its for a different shop, she was there yesterday and did the whole thing. She basically clicked around on her laptop while we BS'd about our vacations. She figured we didnt need much help since she took a copy of my checklist to give out to other new FFLs. LOL. She just had to go through the process.

My FFL expires on May 1st as well, I emailed the renewal and check the first week of February. Check was cashed on the 13th of February, I called last week and asked for a LOA, came the same day. Received my new FFL license on 4/23. Once you get you LOA send that out to your suppliers and they should continue working with you.

My local ATF rep says I should have the LOA by Monday. Cutting it close!

                              Thanks for the advise.
