    sgsmam

Has anyone else received a PM from sgsmam asking questions?

He asked me a question about the shipping of C&R firearms from out of state directly to a CA resident with a C&R FFL and whether it was legal or not. When I pointed him to CA PC 27585 & 27565 showing him that it wasn't legal, he started making personal attacks. Part of his justification was that he asked three FFLs and they said it was legal, so it just must be legal. He said that the CMP is shipping C&R firearms directly, so it must be legal. He hasn't heard of the CA DOJ doing anything, so it must be legal. But he seems to ignore the law as pointed out specifically to him.

I suspect that part of the reason why he is upset is because he admitted that he violated the law and has a hard time accepting that, so he has to attack others.

If you get an PM, it is best to just ignore him.

The last I heard, they were willing to send them direct to people with a C&R FFL and didn't care about the CA PC which prohibits that. Perhaps that has changed or it could be the people getting the firearms was aware of how it had to be transferred.

Did the people who you did the transfer for them for have a C&R FFL? It is really on the C&R FFL holder to know what the law is and to follow it.

CA dealers really don't need to know about 27585 since it doesn't apply to them, although if they do, then they can warn people, but as in this case it seems that people don't want to listen. I don't know why he bothered to ask me about it when he asked 3 others and got bent out of shape when I cited the CA PC which prevented it.
