    M-1A receiver registration???

    Can a M-1A receiver be registered in CA?
    Tried to research this to no avail.
    American soldier by choice. Made in America by the Grace of God.

    So, now it is ironic that the State whittles away at the right of its citizens to defend themselves from the possible oppression of their State.

      Why?

      An M1A receiver - no stock - is not an 'assault weapon' (but pick the wrong stock and it can be), and you can't register 'assault weapons' any more.

      Not being known to the State of California is fine; 'registration' is not a required attribute.

          What do you mean by registration? A receiver can be transferred and they now keep track of all serial numbers.

              I realize it may have been a, I'll say uneducated, question but I've come not to trust the fine print and convoluted verbiage in some of CA's laws. Not to mentioned the (it appears sometimes daily) changes in the law that I may just not be aware of.
              Hence, that's why we have this forum...to pick the brains of the more enlightened.
