COE renewal error

I set up an CFARS account and was trying to renew my COE online. When I enter may that I am a currant COE holder and my name, birth date, CDL number, and my COE number it comes back:
"The Bureau of Firearms was unable to identify a unique COE for you from the data you provided. Please try identifying your COE again."

What does that mean? How do I get to the renewal part of the website?
If I go the snail mail route, who do I make the $22.00 renewal check out too?

Yes I did enter my COE number.

Make sure your name on CFARS is exactly a match for the one on your COE. Double check everything, name address D/L number etc.

did you have an account with a different email address? maybe from CRIS?

My name and address is all correct. No extra e-mail address either. I guess I will go the snail mail way.
Last question. Who do I make the $22.00 renewal check out to?

Hey sorry, bit of a thread jack, but when do you renew the COE? Mine expires in April. I've gone into CFARS a few times to see if I could update it, but there's no option for doing so. I was going to message the Bureau, but then thought maybe it would be easier to wait another month? At a certain time does CFARS permit you to renew?

I don't think it will let you renew until 30 - 60 days before expiration. Just keep checking, the option will eventually appear.

FYI to all on renewal date: CFARS let me do it at 59 days today, but yesterday (at 60) it was still a no go.
