    Shipping Black Powder Handgun

OK, I tried to do some research on the web about having a BP Handgun shipped to my door in California. After reading a lot of 'opinions' about what's legal and what's not, and getting more confused than when I started, I thought I'd come here and hopefully get some straight advice.

What are the ways available to ship a good ol' made in Italy BP Copy to my doorstep?? Fedex?, USPS?, UPS??

    Thanks

It isn't considered a firearm, assuming it doesn't accept modern cartridges, so there isn't a real issue, so what you end up with is bogus issues and those can be impossible to resolve.

      B. Any replica of any firearm described in subparagraph (A) if such replica

is not designed or redesigned for using rimfire or conventional centerfire fixed ammunition, or

uses rimfire or conventional centerfire fixed ammunition which is no longer manufactured in the United States and which is not readily available in the ordinary channels of commercial trade.

      C. Any muzzle loading rifle, muzzle loading shotgun, or muzzle loading pistol, which is designed to use black powder, or black powder substitute, and which cannot use fixed ammunition. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term antique firearm shall not include any weapon which includes a firearm frame or receiver, any firearm which is converted into a muzzle loading weapon, or any muzzle loading weapon which can be readily converted to fire fixed ammunition by replacing the barrel, bolt, breechblock or any combination thereof.

So black powder alone doesn't make it antique if its a revolver. It has to be a replica firearm (most italians are) that does not fire fixed ammop. For instance the Ruger Old Army is not considered antique and is a firearm.

HOWEVER, guns made pre-1899 need not be blackpowder, they can shoot modern ammo, the modern ammo thing in this reguard is a NFA issue, GCA 1968 defines anqutes by age first.

Original and repro black powder guns that don't use a cartridge can be shipped directly to your door.

I realize that, and I do understand what constitutes a black powder gun. So in answer to my original question are you saying it can be shipped by any carrier??

That's what I've always done and with no problems.
