Gun storage question

I've look for info but found nothing relating to gun storage fees.
Long story short, I have a customer who's brother relinquished his gun due to court order. I have been asked to store them till sentencing has concluded.
I'd appreciate some info as to the going storage rates that are being charged under such conditions.

Depends. Our standard rate is $10 per day. Depending on the customer and how long you expect to hold it maybe flat fee $100 or more? Is there a chance after sentencing has concluded he cannot have them back? May want to put in some stipulation what happens then in your T&Cs.

Given his plea deal to 18 months for domestic battery...not a chance in....

There are two types of storage fee. The first is to ensure that the person never wants to do it and to make them really pay for not picking up the firearm when they should. The second is in cases where there is an issue and it isn't really what they want to do, but is needed for some reason. Storing a firearm who is in the military and deployed is far different than someone who just can't be bothered to pick up a firearm.

The main thing in the second case is to ensure that all possible situations are dealt with. After 3 months, what are you going to do if the cost of storage isn't high enough to convince them to do something? If the storage is a reasonable amount, it needs to be only reasonable for a reasonable period of time. The agreement should have a time limit and/or the cost goes up after a fixed period of time.

In this case the defendant has given Power of Attorney via BOE forms 1022/1023/1025 to his father. His father was directed by probation to relinquished the firearms to me for storage per court order. Once the trial has been adjudicated they will be DROSED to father. Sentencing takes place on the
10/24/18.

That's a "nutshell" summation of what occurred.
I'll charge dad $1.00/day/gun.

Just curious, why do you have to wait for the case to be heard to DROS to the father? Is this in case the son is found not guilty? Did the court specifically say not to DROS until the case has been heard.

Defendant plead guilty. Father wants to wait till case has concluded..
