FFL03 + COE mailing address for ammo

The COE application asks for both "physical residential address" as well as "mailing address". Does that mean I can have ammo shipped to my mailing address, which is different from my physical residential address (the one on my DL)?

Mailing address is where you get your mail. Example, for us we are located in West Covina for our physical address, however correspondences from ATF and such go to the PO BOX mailing address where our accountant is and where she gets mail, Redlands, CA. That's about 40 miles away from the physical address.

If I recall, your COE does not have an address on it. Your C&R has your address on it, if it is anything like buying a firearm, they will only ship to the address on your license.

I have had some sellers on Gunbroker swear they can only ship to the mailing address on the license, and just as many swear they can only ship to the premise address. I can't find anything tying it only to type 01 FFLs other than the wording "place of business", but there was an ATF memo several years ago that firearms do not have to be shipped to the address on the license.

I thought it was just premises address. I have to take a look at mine, I have not had to use it in a while.

Mine has both. Physical is BOLDED and the mailer is bottom right.

May firearms be shipped to a licensee at an address different from the business premises address identified on the license?

Yes. Neither the GCA nor its implementing regulations require firearms be shipped only to the licensed business premises. Therefore, a licensee may lawfully receive firearms at the licensee’s mailing address, storage location, or other address where the licensee intends to ensure safe and secure receipt of the firearms.

Thanks guys.. so it sounds like my FFL can have two address on it, both of which ammo can be sent to. I wouldn't be surprised if some vendors will only ship to the BOLDED one though.

A bit off topic but I found this interesting:

I had a flood at my place of business and needed to temporarily receive firearms at a location not show on my license. My wholesalers would not ship to anywhere except the address on my FFL. I suppose they have the right to a policy more restrictive than the law.

Which address shows up in the public FFL searchable database?

03s are not listed in the ATF FFL public lookup tool.

I have a premises address and a mailing address on my FFL. Most vendors will ship to either, some will only ship to the address of the credit card, which is my premises address. Some FFLs will only ship to premises, I just let them know that there may be nobody to sign and their delivery may be returned. If they're really dicks I just ask them not to bother shipping and let their customer know. Then they cave.

Note, this is a 07 and I'm not in CA so don't have to deal with COE or ammunition being restricted.
