DOJ delay

any one here having issues with DOJ delaying. I went in to do my DROS and left home and hrs later got a call that its delayed. what gives. this is my first firearm I hear so much on reasons but clearly on there site is states that only reason there is a delay is from identification probs. please any FFL here can update the possible issue

Previous legal problems is often a cause, even if cleared, sometimes not all the paperwork lines up.

Common name has been an issue for some.

ok. I did have a case dropped to a misdemeanor and then expunged. but that was a month ago and figured the system would be updated by now

You've probably answered your own question here. Would it not make sense that the DOJ would want to make sure that you are not a prohibited person before they tell the dealer to release the firearm? They probably are checking to see if you are eligible to purchase and that the courts have done what they were supposed to do.

Also I should probably edit this to include the following. We as dealers are not told why you are delayed, denied, undetermined. Your eligibility is a personal matter between you and the state, therefore they don't go around telling us details of your case. So asking here if we've dealt with cases like this before isn't going to get you much insight into your particular case.

Just had one delayed recently and it ended up going undetermined. Trying again at a different FFL 😩

yes this ffl will release on undetermined. it just suck that now I have to wait 30 days.

I have a customer with a reduced/expunged felony.

It took almost six months for DOJ to get their **** together and stop denying his background checks.

I am also dealing with a DOJ delay and I am 4 days away from the 30 day mark. I have zero interactions with law enforcement besides a "wet wreckless" dui 25 years ago. I have even gone and done a live scan but have still heard nothing.
