Gun shop for sale
Does anybody know any gun store is for sale in IE,LA or OC? I want to start my own gun shop business, I think buying a established store is better than start fresh. Thank you in advance for any information!

If it is an existing store, then it can be good or bad depending on their reputation. It is hard to get rid of a bad reputation.Kemasa.

Annie's Get Your Guns in Corona had a notice on their website a few months back announcing they were looking for a buyer. Don't know if it is still available. Very nice small mom pop shop.Comment

It would seem to me that it would be better to start fresh than get the baggage that goes with a new shop. If you have the liquidity to buy one maybe starting would be a good option. You most likely have a certain business profile in mind and to find a shop that fits your concepts of how your business should be would, I think, be difficult unless you have in mind spending a bunch to recreate your own business atmosphere.American soldier by choice. So, now it is ironic that the State whittles away at the right of its citizens to defend themselves from the possible oppression of their State.

You're sure you want to start one in California? I'm not being facetious, you're in a tougher market than you would be in many other locations.
That said, do your research and due diligence. There's a reason they're selling, and that often is an indicator you shouldn't be buying. But there are always plenty for sale, especially if you're willing to relocate even a little. Start at the NSSF web site and hit up any business brokers in your area of choice.

Firearms business (gun store) can be very exciting, you will meet all kinds of new people, make all kinds of new friends, and have lot's of fun telling and hearing stories.
Gun stores are like story central ... everyone has a story, and you gonna hear a lot of stories.
And finally
I hope you make a small fortune in the firearm business ... BUT FIRST ... you will need to START with a LARGE fortune

I think you're better off starting from scratch. Form an S corporation, trademark a logo, brand your business and remember every person is a Yelper, so do your best to make people happy. Keep us posted wherever you set up shop.

There are tradeoffs with respect to being a FFL in CA vs. in a free state. In free states FFLs are a dime a dozen since there are not all the issues that there are in other places, such as CA. In CA there are fewer FFLs, for a very good reason, and there is a lot of stuff that you have to deal with, but there is less competition.Kemasa.

You have any stats to back that up? CA has quite a few gun shops and there is areas in USA that have less gun restrictions that don't.
Depends on area I guess too. City of LA has very few gun shops relative to the population due to laws but the surrounding areas have quite a few.Comment
