My father in law has an FFL and CoE. He is in the hospital, and is quite ill. He may or may not continue with his business. Right now, he is unable to speak or write. His FFL is good until 2020. However his CoE is due next month. Can I pay his fee so if he does recover he won't have to start again from scratch? How would I do this? He received the letter saying his renewal comes up by late Nov. Any help is appreciated. DOJ doesn't answer phones it seems.

Anyone can pay the COE bill. When you get the renewal letter send a check to DOJ and it should be renewed without a problem.
Once renewed, be sure and send a copy of the renewal to your local Law Enforcement entity.American soldier by choice. Made in America by the Grace of God.
So, now it is ironic that the State whittles away at the right of its citizens to defend themselves from the possible oppression of their State.

It is not likely that he would have such an account unless he did it recently. It might be possible to create an account, if you have all of the information.
I believe the printed form requires a signature, which could be an issue.Kemasa.

That part I can't tell you. I've been instructed by my local S.O. that when they issue the local "OK to sell firearms" license they want to know that all my licenses and permits are up to date. I've gotten so used to the process that I guess I just figured that it was SOP statewide. Probably is just a local thing.

Dude we are so lucky here. Our city biz license comes in every year with a nicely printed "valid retail sales firearms" on it without us ever having to show them anything. We just pay our usual renewal fee and the thing is emailed to us a few days later. Easy peazy.Interstate Transfers $100 (DROS included with the price)
