S&W 66-1 - .357 magnum

I have a S&W 66-1. Recessed cylinder and I believe pinned barrel. I was wondering what these have been selling for?
It has wood grips with the s&W emblem but don't know if their original

Yours doesn't have a pinned barrel, and without looking at the cylinder I can't tell if it is recessed. See attachment for what a pinned barrel looks like. As far as the top price of $850 it is usually an early one with the paperwork and box. Also the shorter barrel (2.5"-4") are usually at the higher end.

It says mod 66-1 on frame behind the crane.
Further investigation revealed it is a 1981

maybe yours is a transition model. No pinned barrel but retained the recessed cylinder. Anyway if the previous owner was firing only .357 magnum, I would physically check the cylinder to barrel gap,end shake, and check the underside of the top strap for burn.

66-2 (1982): Eliminated pinned and recessed, slightly lengthened cylinder.

Not sure if I agree with this statement. Snubbies and 4" models are all over the place. You can't go three steps without tripping over one.
8" models are just hideous, but 6" models are rare (relatively speaking) and very desirable.
If that were a 6" model, I'd be hounding you on PM for it.
