Does a Springfield Trapdoor require an FFL?

    Hello all,

I've been browsing gunbroker and I've seen that there are some listings for springfield trapdoor rifles which require an FFL and some which do not. I was thinking of getting a trapdoor from this one seller and he is telling me that an FFL is not needed. Is this the case as it is manufactured before 1899 and it does fire a black powder round. Anyone have experience with this?

If it was made before 01-01-1899, the under Federal and CA laws it can be shipped directly to you. No FFL is required due to it being an "antique firearm".

Yes. If it was made before 1899 you are GTG. I had my Trapdoor delivered right to my door.
