How do I go about my county business/firearms licensing?

My county (Stanislaus) requires that on top of applying for a regular business license that I also submit a firearms sales permit application.

It appears that they already expect me to have the FFL 01 before I submit any of that.

From what I've read, getting the business license is the tricky part and should be first step. That way the $200 FFL fee would not be wasted in case of something that didn't work out.

How can I go about submitting these apps without the FFL. Or can I?

Ffl first. Business license second. And Cali requires it to say firearm sales on it or no cfd number also you need 1 mil liability insurance

At what point does one need the insurance?

You need it before the city will give you the business license usually and they have to be a rider on it usually as well.

By the way, your ATF interviewer will be familiar with what you need to have to do business, they check. You can get the FFL but you cannot use it to do business until you meet the requirements of the State and local government.
