Noob Question: AZ FFL transfer of shotgun to CA FFL

I'm a Arizona 07FFL/O2SOT. I have two KelTec KSG shotguns that I would like to give to two cousins living in the Irvine, CA 92602. It's not a sale, but a gift.

My cousins are not new to firearms but they have not purchased anything since 2010 and the CA laws have changed so drastically. I thought I'd help them out by finding out "exactly" what needs to be done, and in what order, for me to ship the two KSGs to a CA FFL so they can start the process.

Let me apologize because this is very new to me. I did the best I can to search this forum and came up with zero. Well, at least a zero understanding of acronyms and such. So, I would appreciate detailed info and any links to CA Govt forms that they need to fill out.

    Thanks in advance!

Because you are an out-of-state FFL, you need to enroll (it's free to do so) in the California Firearms Licensee Check System (CFLCS).

You need to do this before you can ship a firearm to a CA FFL dealer.

After you enroll, your cousins needs to find a CA FFL dealer that will facilitate the transfer.

After you obtain their CA FFL dealer's info, you need to request a Firearms Shipment Verification Approval Letter via the CFLCS.

Once CA DOJ sends you the Firearms Shipment Verification Approval Letter, you can ship the firearm to their CA FFL dealer.

Recipients will also need current firearms safety card or exemption like current hunting license, CCW etc

Actually, there is no need to wait for a letter. The CFLC system is instant online and printable immediately. Just clarifying that he doesn't need to wait by .the mail box for a letter

Make sure that the FFL that you're sending them to is willing to facilitate the transfer and won't charge outrageous amounts.
