My guess is that the mag disconnect feature might removed since it was a LEO firearm. We frequently did that in the day allowing for a tactical reload and yet still be able to fire a round if necessary while reloading ... just a guess.American soldier by choice. Made in America by the Grace of God.
So, now it is ironic that the State whittles away at the right of its citizens to defend themselves from the possible oppression of their State.

The frame and slide is not going to be marked the same as the model name. The "R" is rail, but I have never seen that on the firearm.
Typically, if it has a -CA in the model, then it has the additional crap on it, but that might not always be the case. Then again, what the list shows is not accurate. The 229R-40-ESE is not the CA version and there is a CA version.
You might call Sig and see what they can tell you. It is possible to contact the person (if it has not changed) at the CA DOJ who deals with the list, but without the model it is difficult to determine if the firearm is on the list or not.Last edited by kemasa; 07-31-2017, 7:54 PM.Kemasa.

If it doesn't have a rail you can stop there and it doesn't matter about the other stuff. No goComment

I haven't been able to find anything stating that the P226R 226R-40-BSS-CA / Steel; Alloy has a LCI and mag disconnect. I checked the descriptions on Sigs website, and at several distributors and retailers. I've spent about 2 hours trying to find any proof that the 226R-40-BSS-CA has these features but I have been unable to do so. Anybody have one in stock that can show photos of the sku on box and the LCI on the firearm? Or any links to that product that show the CA sku has a LCI or mag disconnect? I can see the CA sku has the rail, and this one has a rail, so it is possible it could be a compliant pistol.Interstate Transfers $100 (DROS included with the price)

Perfect! Thank you. Just the evidence I needed to conclude that the firearm that was shipped to me is not the CA version. Its always nice to have documentation like this so it can be explained to the customer.Interstate Transfers $100 (DROS included with the price)

As stated earlier, the lack of a rail means that it wasn't the 226R model and is off rosterComment
