    Disregard

Wow, some real sour people here. I guess I shouldn't go to Knott's Berry Farm when they offer free LE admission.

You might want to check with your department policy regarding receiving free gifts/services, especially when asking on a public forum. You would not want to get in trouble for such a minor expense.

there are plenty of dealers in the IE that would process a transfer for $50-75.

        we're talking about a $2900 gun,
you're already going to be paying $230 in sales tax, what's another $50 to the FFL for his time?

So, you're a full time LEO who is probably making 6 figures and you're trying to get someone to donate their time and effort for your personal gain just because you're a LEO? I'm sorry but that's the type of attitude that gives good LEOs a bad name. This isn't the 1950s anymore.

Any FFL near Chino Hills that will do free LE transfer with high-capacity magazines?

Free? I've been known to do favors or random free work for customers, LEO and non LEO.

However never even someone ask, that's tacky.

There is a BIG difference in offering vs. asking. Seeing what you can get for free because you are a LEO tends to offend many people, even those who offer discounts.

Again, you might check your department policy since it could cause you problems. Just trying to help you not get in trouble.

This nonsense isn't a reflection on LEO's in general. While it isn't uncommon for discounts and freebies to be randomly offered to first responders in general, it is bad form and highly frowned upon in the industry to seek out such things. There is no correlation whatsoever between the Knotts promotion, which is freely offered, and the expectation of free services due to one's position or title.

Unfortunately, it is actually viewed by the public as a reflection of LEOs in general.

Anytime a member of a group does something, either positive or negative, but especially negative, it is typically viewed as a reflection of the group, as much as the group might not want it to be and even if it is rare (as a FFL I have heard of many stories of LEOs demanding discounts, yes, not just asking, but demanding and getting upset when they don't get it and while it is a really small percentage, it still reflects on the whole group unfortunately for the rest of the group). This is why when you are representing a group, regardless of the group, you should give careful consideration as to what you do or say. This is also true in regards to people driving company vehicles or vehicles which are marked with company information.
