SMG Guns shipped us a completely sealed box

Spent an hour trying to get this thing open. They used hundreds of nails and screws. Even on the side with hinges they put 29 nails into the side so you can't open it.

Can't cut into it since I don't know where the gun is. Can't beat it open as I don't want to damage the gun. Just called the customer and said he needs to come in and open the box.

It's probably easier to break into your steel safe than it is to get that thing opened!

      Wow.
That is a piece of work.
With all that effort they probably skimped on packaging materials.

They just shipped it with one screw holding down the lid. It was the guy who works at the shipping company who nailed it down good after exchanging the gun for a load of bricks.

WOW! Is it wrong if I'm kind of hoping it's a Hi-Point in 85 layers of bubble wrap?

I sometimes get machine parts or assemblies in crates like this and though that's some pretty impressive securing there, if I'm unsure of what's going on I'll forstner a lower corner away from the hinge side and stick my sewer/cylinder cam inside to see what's what. Usually, the part or assembly is cradled in a field separator. I did note some nails/screws across the longitudinal field.

Whenever I've shipped something out of the shop in a crate, I take pictures of the item in the crate before securing it and send those to the customer (or attached to the paperwork on the crate back in the days when Polaroids were common) so they know how it's secured into the crate. That's pretty much SOP in the machine tool industry IME. IDK about guns since am not a gunsmith.

Hope all that effort paid off and the customer gets a pristine item.

Ours is built the same way except with a screwdriver, you can remove the black screws to open the box from the top. Contains a very nice DP-28 without a pistolgrip. Come on Babs, You got a screw driver right??

Turn the box on its side, where the black screws are and then use your screwdriver to remove the black drywall screws. You can do it! Box comes right open after removing all 6 . . .

I took out the screws but then the nail gun guy got a little happy and put dozens of nails into the same side. So with the screws removed there are still nails holding it closed.
