ATF's Reference Guide updated for 2017

The government's too slow and expensive - they're charging $39.95 for the Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide (say that five times fast) that hasn't been updated since 2014. So, it's now been updated through 2017 for them at 1/4th the cost: https://rocketffl.com/federal-firear...-updated-2017/ Tell me again how private industry can't do some things better than the government?

Even so, since CA laws are SO much more draconian and byzantine, there really isn't much need for the full Fed. regs here in CA since we can't have NFA items etc. anyway. Just about any reg under the Federal rubric has been supplanted by a uniquely twisted CA "improvement".

No doubt. That was one of the arguments I remember hearing when the idea of California breaking off on its own was being talked about - California is the only state that has effectively mirrored (or made more restrictive) every federal law already.

Nice, but CA laws, both state and local, and especially sales tax laws are not Federal, so not included, which is likely were most of the issues would be.
