Sell to whom? If you're selling to your kid and you're both CA residents the OP law form is all you need. If you're selling to another dealer (like a 2nd hand licensee) I have never seen anything in the PC or US code that requires FFLs to prove address on the seller. (and by prove I mean requiring an additional document) If it's a PPT you may have an issue if the buyer is denied his purchase and you need to have the firearm returned to you and you now have the issue of proving identity and address on the 4473. Then at that point you would need to address the problem. Selling on gunbroker and shipping out of state? There's a lot of situations that involve "selling" a gun.

I always ask if address is correct on all deals and ask for something that shows current address even for ppt just to be safe. Usually a car registration. I believe we have to do our best to verify just to be. 200% on paperwork..but still if you don't say it's not current how would the ffl know..only trouble might be the doj auditor doing the dros background..
