Looking for FFL near Corona Ca

I have a friend down from Colorado and he brought with him a Ruger Redhawk. I want to buy it iff of him. I checked and the gun is on CA roster. I am looking for a FFL who can do the transfer with the gun already in CA. Is this going to be an issue?

Unless he is a CA resident you can't do the PPT I believe. Think you'll have to do a FFL in his home state transfer to a FFL in this state.

It's not a PPT. It's a regular interstate transfer. No you do not need to have an FFL in Colorado send it to a CA FFL.

But the gun is here in CA now. He is down here on vacation for a couple of weeks and brought it with him. So he has to take the gun back to Colorado and then ship it here to my FFL? Can't just go to FFL and do the transfer? Yes I know it isn't a PPT. But it would just save from shipping the gun from Colorado.

Read what he said, not what he responded to. He responded to FALSE information and was correcting that FALSE information.

There is no requirement that a FFL has to ship a firearm to a CA FFL.

There is no requirement that a firearm has to be shipped to a CA FFL.

There is NO valid reason why a CA FFL can not accept the firearm from the person from out of state, log it in and submit a DROS for transfer to you. Clearly, the person would need to show a valid ID for the FFL to log who they received it from.

Which the first part is correct, it is not a PPT, but the second part is incorrect.

Your buddy can walk in and bring the gun. No need to ship it.

However 1 in 30 applies as do all other laws regarding sales from other states.

Thanks Kemasa for having my back here. This is what I get for Calgunning while on vacation in Louisiana. All I was doing was responding to the incorrect information that was quoted in my comment. This is the problem here on this sub forum. If you're unsure of the answer you should not be commenting here.

I highly doubt Turner's will want to transfer this, you probably are better with what was commented on in the first few threads. 2A zone, or us or somebody who understands. Turner's isn't the best option here and their interstate fee from what I hear is very high.
