Legal Transfer from SON

My Son is going to be in Ca. He is a resident of another state. He wants to give me his Glock 43. How can I transfer this legally?

Can I just use the interfamily form?

Go to an FFL and process the transfer as an interstate intrafamily transfer.

You cannot use that form. That's only if both of you are CA residents.
