FFL that does AK pistol transfers?

Hello I was wondering if there was any FFL's that would transfer an AK pistol? It has an attached MAGLATCH onto it converting it to a fixed mag setup and requiring the user to remove the bolt and bolt carrier, and the use of a tool to finally be able to detach the magazine.

Called Ace Pawn Shop and they said it's an AW and illegal in California. Guess i'll just have to wait for it finalize.

Since I can easily make a tool to insert into the completely assembled receiver and drop the mag, I would not consider an AK with a Maglatch to be a "fixed magazine" under CA law. In other words, I would bet that a knowledgeable FFL would not transfer it due to it possibly being an AW.

TOo bad...I thought the maglatch was better designed. I've never actually seen one, but didn't realize a tool can be used to remove the mag on a fully assembled AK platform.

Hopefully nobody gets pinched on that one.

The best solution I've found is to drill and tap a magazine and use a cap screw (on the inside of the receiver) to keep it in place. This isn't horrible if you use a mag like the old jperl 10/30 lever mag and modify it with a loading port on on the side opposite the lever. You do need to invert the rifle and load the mag while it is upside down but, it is simpler than disassembling the receiver to change mags. The problem with this method is that it is easy to duplicate for minimal cost so, a business won't profit as much as they could from some cool proprietary mag lock.
