C&R + COE Handgun = 10 day wait, something wrong

I just finished a transaction with a fellow CGer at our LGS. I have my 03FFL + COE. System doesn't allow me to take the handguns home. It spits out a 10 day wait. LGS ran into this problem before but can't figure out the workaround. They said paperwork even says Collector w/ COE and HSC Exempt.

LGS said there was a change in the DROS system and this is a glitch. Is there a workaround I can tell them about or do I have to just suck it up and wait it out like it was a normal handgun?
I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

The private party handgun transfer does not have the C&R exemption. We have pointed it out to the DOJ several times and they have not fixed it. We offer two solutions. One is just wait the 10 days the other is to log it in from the seller and run it as a dealer C&R sale. The DROS would not have the sellers info on it.

I have heard that the FFL can call DOJ and ask for an override if it is a C&R PPT. Obviously that is a hassle and only works during DOJ working hours.

Otherwise ask the FFL to log it in then do it as a dealer sale as mentioned in the post above.

Nope we have called several times and asked them about that they have said if it is not available on the screen there is nothing they can do. We have submitted it several times through he question screen and get the same canned response each time.

What happens when you call DOJ depends a lot on who you get on the phone.

There are many stories of a phone call clearing this up. Here is one posted today.

In the case of a PPT, the LGS has to call CADOJ and they'll manually release the pistol on the spot. I just went through this in the last couple of weeks with some C&R pistols I've sold.

From Dealer stock shouldn't be a problem, though. YMMV.
There are many more Calgunners who have said the same thing, based on their first hand experiences.
