    PPT

Saw a pistol I've wanted to buy for awhile up for sale threw as a ppt. I've never done a ppt before. So I have a few questions.
Do I pay upfront? What is customary?
Do I pay for all the fee's?
    What are the fee's?
Is it a 10 day jail time or 30?
    Who picks the ffl?
    Thanks

Yes, you pay the seller, Who pays for fees is negotiable, its $35.00 (FSC or locks not included) 10 day waiting period. FFL selection is negotiable. I suggest calling them first to ask to do it, as they are required to do them you are also required to inform them in writing, most FFLs will ignore this, but call first. Just showing up may not work out best for all parties involved.

NOTE: I suggest getting the terms of the sale in writing, who pays for what. What happens should the sale be delayed or denied by CA. Is the sales price refundable? If its a denial does the seller collect a small portion for his time? Yes, I've seen PPT's go bad for a number of reasons.

Here's a sample/simple template for what Ace was referring to:

Modify as needed make sure you both agree to it. It really helps if something doesn't go 100% as planned.
